PAY IT FORWARD FREE FOOD SATURDAYS – Intro

Many of the recipes I test come from cookbooks, magazines like Cooks Illustrated, and food bloggers like Serious Eats. Around Wednesday, I will start thinking of what I feel like cooking. On Friday we go buy the supplies and maybe test the recipe out on ourselves. Saturday I will cook in the morning, and we make deliveries in the evening. We typically will make enough food for 8-10 deliveries per weekend.

If we find the recipe successful, we will save that recipe for future use. The recipes that are successful will be used for three charities we support, Fill A Belly, UCSD La Jolla Family House, and UCSD Bannister House. I believe that eating good food should be available to everyone! At this time we’re unable to cook for them. But once the pandemic is over we hope to share these recipes with them.

There will be weekends where I’m not available to cook, but my goal is to cook every Saturday until the Pandemic is over. 40 recipes have been made since March 2020.
